Relinquishing Part II

This is cheating because I did not take this photo Wednesday because I ran out of time (I woke up 2 hours late, had 2 office hours, 2 classes, and 2 papers to write... and a bag to pack and a bus to catch). But I have an arsenal of messages on the back or my door (I am out for the weekend... I know the internet is down... I have the cleaning supplies... etc). I just made this one, should the need arise any time soon. It is my favorite.

A Thoughtul Walk

The Asian Market of Minneapolis

AKA: United Noodles! I may have found a new favorite place. It even had chicory coffee, which made of think of you. :)

Marcellabella

I kinda love her...
She came to visit. We had pizza and a My Fair Lady sing-along. And she was wearing your shirt.

Instead of going to church...

I listened to PHC and spent some QT with GK. I think it was still a spiritual experience.

Dulce de Leche

So, I think milk is creepy and I am not a big fan of caramel, so I don't find this very enticing, but I am still really proud that I made it.

Actually all you do is boil whole cans of condensed milk in a pan of water for like three hours. You open them and TA-DA you have dulce de leche. And then you fold it into migros pastry dough and TA-DA you are practically Colombian.

The Epitome of Consumerism. Case in Point: The Mall of America

While many Western cultures thrive on the activity of consumers, often pulling resources and products from other countries, the United States offers what is perhaps the most infamous of all consumer hotbeds. The Mall of America, the largest mall in the US in terms of total enclosed floor area, offers 520 retail stores to fit any budget. Over 20 sit-down restaurants and 30 food court vendors can satisfy any palate. Additional mall attractions include the Underwater Adventures Aquarium, LEGO Land, a 14-screen cinema theater, and Nickelodeon Universe: the mall's indoor amusement park. The parks spans 7 acres and has many rides (including rollercoasters) and a giant inflatable pineapple. Just when you think America can't get any classier...
*All information taken from Wikipedia and my experience as a Minnesotan.
**Author's Note: We actually did have a ball at the mall.
***Additional Notes: I promise to stop making collages so frequently, but this one simply had to involve multiple photos. Love you!

Can I just tell you jow much I love the Asian Market?

Seriously, I love the place. And the angry woman smiles at me now, because we often go in there and spend loads of the school's money... and sometimes our own too. I wonder if she is confused at my ethnicity (as I sometimes am) based on the random stuff I buy and my tendency to plan and cook for events celebrating cultures to which I do not belong. Eliana and I are doing a fun program we are calling Colombian Love Time, much to Jeff's dismay. Ha!

The Ultimate Date

Mickel' and I went on the ultimate date today, which involved (among other things) Coldstone ice cream, window shopping, silent films, and of course snow. Another day in Paradise! Or, at least another day with my favorite sister.

Ben, Jerry, and Matthews.

I found this in the common room this morning. I thought it was so funny I was not even that mad that this sad person left trash in my common room.

All that remains...

Most mornings look the same.

They look like this:
Which is why I have lots of photos that look the same.
BUT... I have this new obsession with photos in warped reflective surfaces (for a low-buget fish eye look). And the top of the french press is my favorite. I also have a lagre metal mixing bowl that works well. Someday I should carry them around and take photos of the lake and stuff in them... I am sure all the Switalians would be really impressed.

A New Spin on White Zin

Good morning, Mississippi (River).

Laundry

PS- I figured out how to post things into the past. Like post them and then change the date to look like you did it before. It is easy, but I had never tried it before. If only I could do that with other things in my life...

The Minnesota Zoo

A literal, and perhaps figurative title for the pictures and for life.

Love that is neither epic nor tragic.

I love doing this.

They were both taken around midnight, so I am going to count them as Saturday and Sunday.

To do:

Everything. Ever.
Not counting the manhunting for Signora Muz or the seven people who got stuck in the Florida elevator.
But in my time zone it is already tomorrow, so I am going to wash my hand and embrace Friday.
Va bene.

I'm planning to take lessons soon

Northern Clay Center: Combination art studio, gallery, and store. Amazing!

Coop: House of miracles, house of sin.

Juice, yougurt, museli, apples, coffee, and rum.
All part of a balanced breakfast.
HAHAHA!
It is Wednesday again, and I ditched my work to take a walk around the lake.
And grab some supplies.
No need to worry, I do not have rum for breakfast...
None of the girls are on duty so we are going to make pina coladas at Simmy's.
Do you see the STARBUCKS BEANS?!
I knew Coop make a deal with them, but I didn't think any of it would end up in Ticino.
They were on sale too. Per me e per te indeed.
