Roland Family Invades the Farmers' Market
The market held Saturday mornings at the old train depot rocks... There was not a ton of produce this week but we did walk away with Blue Mountain Wine, a small herb garden, and AMAZING bread from a magical Austrian woman. My mom and I talked about getting a CSA membership but decided that buying loads of produce every Saturday is more cost and food effective for us (since she is going to be the only one here after August and she does not really need 20lb of potatoes etc.).
PS- Guess who has been tanning? My sister, formerly known as snow white.
PPS- My mother really is a happy person. But sometimes she does not stop talking while I am taking the photo :)
PPPS- On the left we have my old-school friend Katie who is practically family. She joined us for the day's adventures, which included musical driving, brunch at Lucille's in Ft.Collins, Thrift Shopping, and all sorts of ritual fun.

And because I cannot keep this to myself, meet Jaron and Karlee:

The Ice Cream Truck of Doom
So, this is the ice cream truck which haunts my dreams. It often cruises around during the day, offering cool refreshments to those in need. While I fully support its cause, its music reminds me of a certain Gretian voyage....Yes, they do, in fact, play the same rendition of "Fur Elise," only the ice cream truck starts over each time it starts driving again. As it stops approximately two times per city block and drives around each side of each block, I often hear the first two measures of Beethoven's masterpiece as I drift off to dreamland...

Stolen Balcony Time
Girasole was empty. So we adopted a balcony, moved some chairs out, and read some magazines we found in the common room. It was great.

Milwaukee Avenue
Milwaukee Avenue is beautiful. It is a pedestrian street in the middle of Minneapolis with two rows of beautiful little houses. The homes are made of various shades of brick and they all have lovely wooden porches, painted different colors. Walking down the street, you feel as though you've stepped back in time. The houses are almost identical, which would be sort of creepy if they weren't so charming. As it is, this little nook of a neighborhood has traded all the disturbing perfection of the 'burbs for an old-fashioned personality that is nothing but endearing.
Today, it was all lilacs, tulips, and garage sales. :)
