A Cuppa Big Mama's Chai

The temperature was twenty-five degrees below zero, with a windchill of negative fourty. Mama Yust's chai and a cozy wool sweater warms the soul on such a night.

Somewhere it is still morning...

Some MN love, right back at ya!

Yes, this is ice. Yes, it is on the inside of the window. Yes, it is 5 degrees below 0 (or -20 Celcius for you Europeans out there). And yes, this is supposed to be the warmest day of the week. God bless us.

The Monk Tea Has Failed Me

I have not been able to get to sleep or stay asleep. It is productive but exhausting. This is where I would rather spend my day:

Some OSA (but now it is 'office of student life and learning' or some crap) love for Alauna:

This is how I spend most mornings.

All good things

This is a collection of nice things we had to say about school, our personal lives, our staff, and building communities. Later we did yellow papers but they were not as fun or as pretty.

My Nephew

He's an odd one, but they love him very much despite his oddities...Or perhaps because of them.

Patsy and Partner

Mickel' and I went to a pro-am dance competition this weekend in Minneapolis. This is Patsy, the most senior dancer. We're guessing she was late 70s or early 80s, and she was fabulous!

Internetless in Lugano.

I am here, and I have photos, but Girasole has no internet... and there was no way I was going down into the dark dungeon in a giant empty building all alone. But I have them and they will be here someday :)

Wicked

(By Gregory Maguire)

It made me think of you Alauna... The page before the first chaper says this:

"'Tis very strange men should be so fond of being thought wickeder than they are"
-Daniel Defoe, A System of Magick

Indeed.

"The Sharp Teeth of Love"

The North Branch Area Library has a spicy fiction section...

Coffee with Nikki

We met around 9:30 and I did not get home until after 1.

A Sticky Obsession

I think someone spiked my coffee.

My mother made me clear my mugs out of the cupboard. There were lots. Someday maybe I will have a real home and I can unpack them and have a party. And we really can spike the coffee :)
