I feel as though when a person says, "Yes, I'm ready to have a houseplant," that what they really mean is, "Yes, I am currently established in my location and am therefore ready to have items signifying/legitimizing my commitment for the time being." Well, I now have a houseplant. At least for a while. It once belonged to my sister, but got a little neglected, so she handed him off to me. I hope she never does that with children (or her dog), but I'm okay with the plant.Now, he just needs a name and a little water...
